The Mission of CMAA is "To promote and enhance leadership, professionalism, and excellence in managing the development and construction of projects and programs."
The Vision of CMAA is "to be the recognized authority in managing the development and construction of projects and programs".
The Purpose of the CMAA San Diego Regional Chapter’s Scholarship Awards is to promote student involvement in the Chapter, and to reward students exhibiting genuine interest in the improvement of the construction management industry, as demonstrated in their studies and statements of short and long-term goals.
ELIGIBILITY
1. Applicant must be enrolled in an Associate's, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program with an emphasis in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry at a California college/university located in San Diego or Imperial County. Preference will be given for Construction focused programs.
- Applicant must have full-time enrollment for the 2025-2026 academic year (part-time students are not eligible for awards).
- Applicant must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Online applications must be submitted in electronic format via the CMAA San Diego’s website (https://cmaa-sd.org/Student_Outreach). E-mail in PDF applications will not be accepted.
2. Applicant is responsible for ensuring that all items/documents listed below are included with their application using the upload feature of the online application:
- a)Grade Transcript or Degree Progress Report (un-official transcripts are acceptable)
- b)Recommendation Letter(s)
- c)Proof of current enrollment (acceptable ways to evidence proof of enrollment may be a letter from the institution’s registration office, printout from a school-related website that indicates enrollment status (such as Web Portal) or other proof that demonstrates the applicant’s current enrollment status)
- Applicant must be able to attend the CMAA San Diego Regional Chapter’s Awards Banquet and Scholarship Dinner between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on April 28, 2026, in San Diego.
- Attention and consideration will be given to participation and/or involvement in professional/student organizations such as the Student Chapter of CMAA; enrollment in the CMIT program, participation in CMAA San Diego Regional Chapter events and other extracurricular activities, reference(s); applicant’s expressed interest in construction management, GPA and past CMAA scholarship awards.
AWARDS
1. Scholarship awards can range in value at the discretion of the CMAA San Diego Regional Chapter Student Scholarship Committee.
- Applications will be reviewed and winners selected by the CMAA San Diego Regional Chapter Student Scholarship Committee.
- Award(s) will be announced at the CMAA San Diego Chapter Scholarship and Industry Awards Banquet on April 28, 2026 in San Diego at the Marriott Marquis. Checks will be distributed by mail the following week for security purposes.
